More writers think Arkansas will win the SEC than think Florida will, too.

Florida was picked to finish third in the SEC East by the same pool of 293 writers that selected four Gators to preseason All-SEC teams.

The Gators were picked to finish third in the East behind South Carolina and Georgia, and received no votes as projected SEC champion. South Carolina (32) and Georgia (19) were the only SEC East teams to be receive votes as SEC champion.

Meanwhile, even the dregs of the SEC West earned similar support. Ole Miss got two of those champion votes, Mississippi State got one, and Arkansas, projected to finish last in the SEC West and coming off a winless campaign in the SEC, picked up one of those.

Alabama led all teams with 154 votes as SEC champion, while Auburn finished second with 75.

The full list of SEC East teams by points earned is as follows:

  1. South Carolina (1895)
  2. Georgia (1777)
  3. Florida (1362)
  4. Missouri (1263)
  5. Tennessee (893)
  6. Vanderbilt (619)
  7. Kentucky (395)
