Despite having the week off to prepare for their matchup with Georgia, the Gators rose in the Coaches Poll from No. 14 to No. 12. They come in just behind their highest achieved ranking in the poll this year so far (No. 11).
The Gators also saw their stock rise in the AP Poll, moving from No. 13 to No. 11. As in the Coaches Poll, that's thanks to Utah and Florida State's losses ... but hey, Florida fans will take it, right?
The week off was also kind to the aforementioned Georgia Bulldogs, as they rose from No. 25 to No. 23 in the coaches' poll. Florida's other remaining ranked opponent, Florida State, saw a big drop in the aftermath of their crushing, last-second defeat at the hands of Georgia Tech. The Seminoles dropped from No. 9 to No. 15 in the Coaches Poll
The AP Poll wasn't as kind to either team. The Bulldogs were left out of the top 25 entirely by the AP, and the Seminoles dropped form No. 9 to No. 17, the second-largest drop by any team.
Elsewhere across the SEC, LSU moved to No. 4 in both polls, Alabama moved up to No. 7 in both polls and Ole Miss was bumped up to No. 21 in the Coaches and No. 19 in the AP after dominating Texas A&M (who dropped out of both polls completely). Mississippi State also snuck back inside the AP's top 25, coming in at No. 25.
