Florida linebacker Antonio Morrison had a monster game for the Gators in their upset over Ole Miss, and is taking home a pair of awards for his efforts.
After racking up a ridiculous 16 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack, figures revised upward from an original accounting of 13 tackles, Morrison has been honored as both the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, and as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
So far on the season, Morrison has accounted for 37 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 pass defended (according to Sports Reference). He is an integral part of a Florida defense that is looking more and more like the arguable best defense in the country with each week that goes by.
