In the aftermath of their win over South Carolina, the Florida Gators have risen to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll. The jump was expected due to how many top ten teams faltered in week 11, but it's still a welcomed jump for the Gators, as it puts them in strong position to challenge for a playoff berth, should they find a way to take down Alabama in the SEC Championship game.
Florida's remaining regular season opponent to be ranked by the Coaches Poll is Florida State, who comes in at No. 16. The Seminoles have been able to keep themselves within shouting distance of the top teams, despite having issues at quarterback and a hobbled Dalvin Cook, so the Florida - Florida State showdown to end the season should be a fun one.
Elsewhere across the SEC, the aforementioned Alabama Crimson Tide moved up to No. 3, the LSU Tigers dropped down to No. 17 following their loss to Arkansas and Mississippi State moved down into a tie at No. 25 with Ole Miss.
The AP Poll saw the Gators rise to No. 8, as well. Similarly to the Coaches Poll, the AP also ranked the Seminoles at No. 16. Other SEC teams in the AP are Alabama (No. 3), LSU (No. 17) and Ole Miss (No. 25).
Do you think Florida is fairly ranked? Should they be higher?
