Florida vs. North Carolina A&T, Game Thread: The Mike White show makes a home debut

The Gators look to heat up at home.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

As Mike White's Florida Gators make their home debut on Monday night (8 p.m., SEC Network+ via WatchESPN), they will do so with plenty to work on.

To be clear, the Aggies should allow Florida to do a lot of that work: They just lost to Purdue by 41 in their season opener, and are coming off a 9-23 season in 2014-15 in which they beat exactly one Divison I team outside the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Cy Alexander's team ranked No. 340 in KenPom last year, and only the small sample size of this season has them ranked as "high" as No. 298 now: No Aggie made more than two shots against Purdue, or scored more than Bruce Beckford's nine points, and the team missed all of its 15 threes.

Florida, of course, didn't singe the twine against Navy on Friday night, taking its 59-41 victory by making 20 of 30 twos and playing smothering defense. But that was a poor night for Dorian Finney-Smith and for Florida's shooters in general, and it will be interesting to see whether the friendly confines of the O'Dome (and their familiar Nike ball) allow them to shoot better percentages on this night.

I'll be here in the comments and on Twitter, but we're all going to be dealing with the WatchESPN delay tonight, so be aware of that.
