Florida moves up to No. 10 in Week 11 Coaches Poll, stays at No. 11 in AP Poll

The Gators benefited from other teams' first losses.

Clinching the SEC East on Saturday with their win over Vanderbilt didn't do all that much for the Florida Gators in the Week 11 USA TODAY Coaches Poll or the Week 11 AP Poll.

Florida rose two spots in the coaches poll, from No. 12 to No. 10, after the victory over the Commodores, but that came as a result of other teams' misfortune. No. 12 TCU and No. 14 Michigan State plummeted past the Gators after their first losses of the year, and Florida's no longer the nation's third-best one-loss team per the coaches.

That would be No. 9 LSU, which fell from No. 5 as a result of its defeat at the hands of Alabama, now No. 4. Three of the five one-loss teams in the coaches poll's top 10 are SEC teams, with the other two being No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 7 Stanford.

Florida won't have a great chance to make hay in the coaches poll without losses until the SEC Championship Game, either, thanks to Florida State's loss to Clemson. The Seminoles fell from No. 15 to a tie for No. 18 this week, and face a tricky home game against N.C. State this weekend.

The AP Poll was no kinder to the Gators, who stayed at No. 11, with Oklahoma State and Utah jumping them to nullify the effect of TCU and Michigan State sliding past them.
