Jacksonville Raines defensive end JaQuan Bailey decommitted from Florida early Wednesday, writing "I am officially de-committed from the University of Florida" in a tweet that has since been deleted, according to Zach Abolverdi of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Despite that initial deletion, Bailey, a 247Sports Composite three-star player, has since retweeted other tweets and sent some of his own to confirm his decision.
His decommitment is hardly a surprise. I was told recently that Bailey — who described himself earlier this week as a "soft commit" to the Gators while also naming Florida his "dream school" — was among a group of players Florida might try to part ways with before its final push toward National Signing Day, and that his academic profile might have given him trouble with qualifying at Florida.
Bailey's talked up Virginia Tech on Twitter since his decommitment tweet, so that's a potential landing spot for him; 75 percent of the current Crystal Ball predictions for Bailey have him becoming a Hokie.
Florida's back down to 25 commits in its 2015 class with Bailey's decommitment, after briefly jumping to 26 with the pledge of kicker Eddy Pineiro.
