After a rocky start to the morning, Florida finally has its first commitment of National Signing Day 2015: Booker T. Washington wide receiver Antonio Callaway has committed to the Gators, as first reported by Scout's Bob Redman.
Callaway, a consensus three-star prospect rated a four-star player by 247Sports, is a fleet wide receiver who projects as a playmaker in the slot at the collegiate level, and hails from the same national powerhouse program that sent Treon Harris to Florida in 2014.
Callaway's commitment was tipped early by a report from Chad Wilson, the plugged-in father of Florida corner Quincy Wilson, and a placard at his school, but he'd been viewed as a Florida-Miami battle for much of his recruitment, and the Gators getting his final official visit this past weekend likely contributed to his commitment.
Callaway could contribute right away at Florida if he can beat out incumbents Latroy Pittmsn, C.J. Worton, and Ryan Sousa in the slot.
