2015 NCAA Tournament bracket: Florida left out for first time since 2008

A five-year streak of NCAA Tournament appearances is snapped.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

Florida had been to the last five NCAA Tournaments, and the last four Elite Eights.

Neither streak will continue in 2015, as the Gators were officially left out of the 2015 NCAA Tournament field, announced moments ago on CBS.

Kentucky — which beat Florida thrice this season — enters the NCAA Tournament as the field's No. 1 overall seed, following in the footsteps of Florida's 2014 team, which recorded the same 21-0 record against SEC teams last season that Kentucky did this year. The SEC has produced the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years, and in four of the last nine; no other conference has more than two, and both of those went to the Big East's Louisville.

The SEC also received five 2015 NCAA Tournament bids: Kentucky will be joined by No. 5 seed Arkansas, No. 9 seed LSU, No. 10 seed Georgia and No. 11 seed Mississippi.
