Florida Gators Weekend Open Thread: With spring game, home series, hope is in town

There's more than one reason for Gators fans to have hope this weekend.

Rob Foldy-USA TODAY Sports

The biggest sporting event of the Florida Gators multiverse this weekend is obviously the Gators' spring game, set for kickoff at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday in The Swamp.

But that's not the only big one.

Florida's baseball team will look to finally get above .500 in SEC play to stay this weekend against South Carolina, and has a much better chance at doing so after a 14-3 drubbing of the Gamecocks on Friday night. Florida softball is taking on a Kentucky team that took a series at LSU, the only team to hand the Gators a series loss in 2015. Florida's lacrosse team will finish its home schedule on Saturday against Villanova. And on Sunday, buoyed by a win over Georgia on Friday, Florida's women's tennis team will look to solidify its claim to an SEC title in its regular season finale.

It's more than just football that will have hopes soaring on this brilliant spring weekend.

Here's your weekend how-to-follow guide.
