Coaches can now recruit 2017 class: As of the stroke of midnight last night, schools can now have electronic correspondence with recruits in the 2017 graduating class.

Jim McElwain was happy.

2017 commit Jake Allen, of course, was all over the midnight changeover.

Yes, that's Sam Bruce.

Allen also posted his personalized version of the above graphic.

Of course, not every coach or player wants to play the "Let's talk at midnight because we're finally allowed to do so!" game.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, and certainly more than one way to recruit highly-skilled high schoolers to play sports at the collegiate level. The best recruiters figure out the best ways to connect with each individual prospect, and go from there.

Martez Ivey, Keanu Neal not ruled out: McElwain said Monday that he would update reporters on both players' status on Wednesday. I don't expect either one to play against New Mexico State, but Antonio Morrison's Lazarus impersonation has me questioning everything I know about sports medicine. (Robbie Andreu, The Gainesville Sun)

Brandon Powell discusses offense: Good stuff. (Jesse Simonton, Miami Herald)

Recapping Florida commits'/targets' Friday nights: I'm hoping to put together our own version of this for Mondays, but it may not be until next week. (Andrew Spivey, Gator Country)
