Big recruiting weekend on tap for Florida: For the last recruiting weekend of the 2016 cycle, Florida will host at least 10 official visitors, including three recruits ranked in the top 33 nationally. Those three are Houston WR commit Tyrie Cleveland, DB Kristian Fulton, and LB Lyndell "Mack" Wilson. Florida commits visiting this weekend include RB Lamical Perine, LB Jeremiah Moon, CB C.J. McWilliams, DBs Quincy Lenton, Antonio Nelson and Jeawon Taylor, and WR Rick Wells. (Zach Abolverdi, SEC Country)

Surging Gators entering tough stretch: After a humbling beating at Tennessee on January 6th, Florida has won four of their last five, with their only loss coming by three points to the Texas A&M Aggies, who are presently in first place in the SEC. The Gators will go on the road to Vanderbilt tonight, at one of the SEC's most unique home courts, and then face No. 9 West Virginia at home on Saturday. (Edgar Thompson, Orlando Sentinel)

Chris Chiozza adjusting to starting role: Florida head coach Mike White said that Chiozza has been perhaps the Gators' most consistent player (other than in the Mississippi State game). (Alex Maminakis, Independent Florida Alligator)

Dorian Finney-Smith named SEC player of the week: Finney-Smith averaged 22 points and 10.5 rebounds in Florida's wins over Mississippi State and Auburn. He's posted double-doubles in four of his last six games. (Kevin Brockway, Gainesville Sun; Denver Parler, Florida Gators)

KeVaughn Allen named to midseason Wayman Tisdale Award watch list: The Wayman Tisdale Award is presented to the nation's top freshman. (Denver Parler, Florida Gators)

Jake McGee getting ready for NFL, Senior Bowl: McGee is excited to be coached by Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley for the Senior Bowl. McGee was personally one of my favorite players during his short time at Florida. He says that while he would be happy being a part of any NFL team, he would like to play for Jacksonville or Tampa as both are cities with a lot of Gator support. He is currently preparing for the NFL Combine in Pensacola with several Florida alums. (Mike Kaye, First Coast News)

Jim McElwain excited about 2016 recruiting class: McElwain obviously cannot specifically talk about recruits yet, but he believes good players are headed to Florida and that the future is bright for the Gators. (Anthony Chiang, Palm Beach Post)

SEC introduces working group on compliance: Nine individuals from campuses across the SEC were appointed to form a working group to discuss issues concerning NCAA compliance and governance. Dr. Michael Sagas, the Faculty Athletics Representative from UF, will be a part of the group. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators)

Mike Peterson headed to South Carolina: Peterson, a former Florida All-American who had been working on the Gators' strength and conditioning staff, is expected to coach linebackers at South Carolina. He joined new South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp's Florida staff as a graduate assistant in 2013. (Pat Dooley, Gainesville Sun)
