Game time announced for Missouri at Florida: The Gators’ homecoming game will be played at 4:00 p.m. on the SEC Network on October 15. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators; SEC Country)

Gators preparing for LSU rushing attack: The Baton Rouge based Tigers rushed for 424 yards against the Missouri Tigers last week. Florida has several injuries along their defensive front, and could actually be without their entire normal starting defensive line when LSU visits. Leonard Fournette, who missed LSU’s victory over Missouri, will be back against the Gators. (Chris Harry, Florida Gators)

Who will start at QB against LSU? Jim McElwain said Luke Del Rio is of the mindset that he will play, but that the starter wouldn’t be decided until after seeing how Del Rio holds up during Wednesday’s practice. (Jordan McPherson, Miami Herald; Garry Smits, Florida Times Union)

A tale of two quarterbacks: Florida’s offense performed better with Luke Del Rio at the helm. Austin Appleby has started the last two games for the Gators in Del Rio’s stead. With Del Rio under center for the Gators’ first three home games, Florida averaged 33.7 points and 466 yards of offense per game. Both of Appleby’s starts have come on the road, including against top-10 ranked Tennessee. (Ian Cohen, Independent Florida Alligator)

Monday’s Florida football press conference links:

On Appleby and Etling: Purdue transfers Austin Appleby and Danny Etling have found homes in the SEC. Both did not enter this season as starters but have been thrust into action - Appleby by Luke Del Rio’s injury, and Etling by Brandon Harris’ ineffectiveness. (Scott Carter, Florida Gators)

Johnny Townsend named Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week: Townsend is averaging 50.2 yards per punt this season, which is good for second in the FBS.

4-star cornerback C.J. Henderson decommits from Miami: Henderson plans to visit Florida this Saturday for the LSU game. It will be his sixth trip to UF this year. (Zach Abolverdi, SEC Country)

Gators in the NFL - Week 4: Jordan Reed caught two touchdowns this weekend, and reached 200 receptions faster than any other tight end in NFL history. (Kelsey Bibik, Florida Gators)
