Nick Washington out for trip to FSU: Washington injured his ankle in Saturday’s win over LSU. The Gators will now be without four of the team’s top five tacklers (Washington is No. 5) against the Seminoles, after being without their top three against the Tigers. Jim McElwain noted that Chauncey Gardner and Duke Dawson will fill in for Washington, and that Washington’s presence on special teams would also be missed. (Edgar Thompson, Orlando Sentinel; Zach Abolverdi, SEC Country; Robbie Andreu, Gainesville Sun)

That means that Florida could be down eight starters at FSU: The seven who missed the LSU game - Luke Del Rio, Alex Anzalone, Marcus Maye, Jarrad Davis, Bryan Cox, Cameron Dillard, and Tyler Jordan - should not play this Saturday either. The only one of those seven with a chance to seeing playing time is Tyler Jordan. (Thomas Goldkamp, 247 Sports)

I’ll note that Jim McElwain said, and Brandon Powell confirmed, that several wide receivers - including Powell, Antonio Callaway, and Tyrie Cleveland - asked coaches to keep running the ball late in the game on Saturday, because of the success that Jordan Scarlett and Lamical Perine were having. Jim McElwain shared that to illustrate how unselfish those receivers were.

Teammates discuss Tyrie Cleveland: Austin Appleby and Brandon Powell spoke about the confident and hardworking freshman. (Ryan Young, SEC Country)

Three Gators receive SEC weekly honors: David Reese was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, Eddy Pineiro was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, and Tyrie Cleveland was named SEC Freshman of the Week. (Layne Weitzel, Florida Gators)

FSU seniors have chance to set record against Florida: If the Seminoles beat the Gators on Saturday, FSU’s senior class will be the first in school history to go 8-0 against Florida and Miami. (Safid Deen, Orlando Sentinel)
