Week 10 college football TV schedule and open thread

Here’s what to watch before and after the Gators play.

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Alabama John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight, the SEC and Big Ten both are featuring ranked on ranked match-ups in the prime-time slot, with Alabama at LSU designated as the marquee game of the day. But other than the two CBS featured SEC games, the rest of the conference brings you lopsided or unappealing contests today.

Florida is playing in one of those SEC games airing on the Eye Network. The Gators travel to Fayetteville to play the Arkansas Razorbacks at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

Feel free to come back to this thread while watching any of today’s later games.

Here are our picks for today’s viewing windows:

Early (12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Eastern)

Texas at Texas Tech (12:00 p.m., FS1): Neither of these Lone Star State based teams plays much defense, so this game has major points and shootout potential.

Wisconsin at Northwestern (12:00 p.m., ABC): The No. 8 Badgers are one of the best two loss teams in the country, having only lost by a touchdown to both Michigan and Ohio State. The Wildcats nearly upset Ohio State last week and could provide a challenge to Wisconsin as well.

Texas A&M at Mississippi State (12:00 p.m., SECN): The Aggies, ranked all the way up at No. 4 by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee, travel to Starkville to face a reeling 3-5 Bulldogs team that barely held off Samford last week. A&M’s offense should have a field day against State’s lackluster defense.

Vanderbilt at Auburn (12:00 p.m., ESPN): The No. 9 Tigers have won their last five in a row and have been impressive on both sides of the ball. Can the Commodores stop the Tigers’ rushing attack? Will Vandy be able to do anything on offense? Probably not!

Afternoon (3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern)

You will obviously be watching Florida play Arkansas, at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

Evening (7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern)

FSU at NC State (7:00 p.m., ESPNU): Both of these ACC teams are coming off of losses - the No. 22 Seminoles narrowly lost to Clemson at home, while the Wolfpack coughed up a bad loss to Boston College.

Georgia at Kentucky (7:30 p.m., SECN): Georgia could lose their fifth game here and be under .500 on the season. A Kentucky win could help the Wildcats hold on to their second place ranking in the SEC East and kept their SEC East title hopes theoretically afloat. What a time to be alive.

Alabama at LSU (8:00 p.m., CBS): The always hyped match-up between the Tide and Tigers is again the CBS double-header night game this year. No. 1 Alabama, and their embarrassment of riches on both sides of the ball, have not lost to No. 13 LSU since that 9-6 barnburner in 2011. Since then, the Tide have beaten the Tigers by an average of 13.4 points in their subsequent five meetings (including the 2011 National Championship Game).

Nebraska at Ohio State (8:00 p.m., ABC): Here is your second ranked on ranked 8:00 p.m. game. The No. 10 Huskers suffered their first loss, in overtime to Wisconsin, last week. The No. 6 Buckeyes struggled with Northwestern after dropping to Penn State the week before. The winner of this one gets to hold on to their top-10 ranking and playoff hopes.

And here is your Week 10 schedule table.
