The offseason is a long, and dreary time for football fans. Thankfully, many internet-users see that time as an opportunity to create and publish hype videos, to remind college football fans everywhere that this is the time when expectations are limitless. Your team is set to accomplish big things. Yes, your team.
Florida fans are no exception to this, as we will see plenty of hype videos for the Gators as we approach the 2016 regular season. The ones that always seem to stand out, though, are the ones produced by the university itself, as this one is.
The Gators entered into a new era in 2015, under Jim McElwain, and things started off better than probably anyone could have imagined. They rushed out to a 6-0 start, including a beatdown of the Ole Miss Rebels, who at the time were the third-ranked team in the entire country.
Things hit a snag in mid-October, when quarterback Will Grier was suspended for failing an NCAA drug test. Florida was still able to win four of their its six final regular season games, but it was clear that the team was no longer firing on all cylinders, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. They ended their season with losses to Alabama in the SEC Championship game and Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.
Needless to say, the Florida Gators experienced some extreme highs and lows during the 2015 season. Now, they are tasked with finding out what kind of team they truly have, and who they really are.
