Chomping at Bits: Is Florida's Treon Harris switching positions?

Treon Harris became a topic of discussion again late Thursday.

Picture sparks Treon Harris speculation: Late Thursday afternoon, Florida quarterback Austin Appleby tweeted a picture of what he called "the QB crew."

From left to right, it includes Feleipe Franks, Kyle Trask, Luke Del Rio, Appleby, and Harry "Quint" Gornto V, holding the camera. It does not, obviously, include Treon Harris, the only quarterback on Florida's roster to start a game for the Gators. This sparked questions, and when someone asked Gator Country's Andrew Spivey about it, he dropped a nugget on Twitter:

Because #FloridaTwitter is a breeding ground for people who pass on whatever without any sort of journalistic scruples, that tweet got amplified but never confirmed. I reached out to a source last night to check on whether Harris had, in fact, moved to receiver, and was told not to read too much into the picture.

Gridiron Now's Mike Huguenin has since reported Friday morning that Harris will move to wide receiver.

While I firmly believe Harris won't be a quarterback at Florida come the fall — and perhaps even spring practice — I have also thought that Florida will let him make that decision on his own time. And I also don't think the way the news of a Harris position change will break will be a picture on Twitter from a grad transfer quarterback.

But I could be wrong!
