Florida vs. Mississippi, Game Thread: Gators look to throw back a win on '90s Night

Florida has one win over Mike White's alma mater this year. Can the Gators make it two?

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Florida already has one win over Mississippi in Mike White's first season as the Gators' head coach, a convincing road victory in Oxford in January. On '90s Night in the O'Dome (9 p.m, ESPNU or WatchESPN), Florida will try to quell the Rebels again.

The strategy for doing so remains unchanged: The Gators have to stop Stefan Moody. The Rebels' leading scorer remains one of the most explosive offensive players in the SEC, if not the nation, and his potential for getting hot and wrecking any game plan is still why he'll be at the top of Florida's scouting reports.

But Florida's also generally been better since that trip to Oxford, which began a run of five wins in six contests. And the Gators have been excellent at home, topping 80 points in their last four bows in front of the Rowdy Reptiles.

Florida's only topped 90 points twice in 2015-16, but with the Gators throwing it back to a time when White was a Rebels point guard, it would be plenty appropriate for them to do it again.
