Spring practice starts today: A school-record 12 early enrollees joined the Gators in January. A neat tidbit - Jim McElwain notes that those players did not have an opportunity to go through Signing Day like a lot of other prospects, due to their early enrollment, so they staged a mock one for them with the team. All eyes will be on the quarterbacks again this spring, and on early enrollee kicker Eddy Pineiro. (Scott Carter, Florida GatorsZach Abolverdi, SEC Country)

Injured players for spring: Wide receiver Brandon Powell (foot) and offensive lineman Martez Ivey (shoulder) will miss practice as they rehab from offseason surgery. Kickers Jorge Powell and Neil MacInnes will also miss spring practice. Linebacker Alex Anzalone has been cleared to return to practice as a non-contact participant. Defensive tackle Joey Ivie and cornerback Quincy Wilson will be limited after their offseason surgery for sports hernias. (Anthony Chiang, Palm Beach Post)

Luke Del Rio has edge in quarterback competition: Del Rio has been in Florida's offense longer than the other candidates, Purdue graduate transfer Austin Appleby and true freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask, who all arrived on campus in January. (Robbie Andreu, Gainesville Sun)

No. 1 Florida baseball wins seventh in a row: Tied at 2-2 entering the eighth inning, the Gators scored four runs on five hits to take down North Florida 6-2.  (Patrick Pinak, Independent Florida Alligator; John Hines, Florida Gators)

Guard play will be key for Gators in SEC Tournament: Chris Chiozza got his confidence back on track against Missouri on Saturday. (Edgar Thompson, Orlando Sentinel)

No. 1 Florida softball hosts South Dakota tonight: It's the Gators' final game before opening SEC play on Saturday at Auburn. (Will Pantages, Florida Gators)

Jim McElwain on Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh holding spring practices in Florida - "more power to him": McElwain notes that Harbaugh is not doing anything illegal. (Zach Abolverdi, SEC Country)
