Florida Relays underway: It's a huge weekend in Florida sports, as UF hosts the Florida Relays — which have typically highlighted the biggest home weekend of the Gators' spring sports schedule in recent years. With the Gators' spring football game pushed to next Friday, it's not quite the "biggest" weekend this year, but it's certainly the best one for those Gators fans who don't require football with their consumption of Florida's athletics program. The Relays began Thursday, and Claudia Francis (pictured above) led it off in style with a near-record time in the 400-meter hurdles. (Zach Dirlam, Florida Gators | Zach Dirlam, Florida Gators)
Last two softball titlists face off at KSP: No. 1 Florida hosts No. 6 Alabama in just the latest seismic weekend series for the Gators. In case you were worried the SEC wasn't taking over softball: Florida leads eight SEC teams in the top 16 of this week's ESPN.com/USA Softball poll. (Will Pantages, Florida Gators | Chris Harry, Florida Gators)
Showdown at the Mac: No. 1 Texas A&M looks to be the first team to dent No. 3 Florida's run of excellence at McKethan Stadium, where the Gators haven't lost since dropping a series opener against Auburn in May 2015. (John Hines, Florida Gators)
Florida gymnastics seeks passage to nationals: The Gators will have to earn it in Minnesota. (Alejandro López, The Independent Florida Alligator)
Randy Shannon discusses LB corps in flux: The Gators lose a lot at linebacker with Antonio Morrison off to the NFL. (Jesse Simonton, Miami Herald)
April Fools' jokes are stupid: More on this later today, but this report suggesting UF and FSU are merging isn't even funny enough to be a joke, really. (Staff Report, The Independent Florida Alligator)
