UF forms committee for new athletic director search: The university hopes to have a new AD hired prior to October 1, when Jeremy Foley steps down. The committee will narrow down a list to an undetermined number of finalists, then Florida head coaches and UAA staff will have a chance to meet with them. Profile on Florida freshman Lamical Perine: Perine was rated as a three-star prospect after his junior year and felt he was not being noticed by coaches and recruiting services. Perine says that Florida was the big school that pursued him despite his ranking. Perine had a successful senior season and was named the Class 7A running back of the year for the state of Alabama. He was also rated four-stars and offered by Alabama, but chose to stick with the Gators. (Zach Abolverdi, SEC Country)
Single-game and mini-plan football ticket information announced: UF released single ticket pricing information and will again be doing three game ticket mini-plans. The Orange Plan includes tickets to the LSU, Kentucky, and Presbyterian home games, while the Blue Plan includes tickets to the South Carolina, Missouri, and UMass games. (Florida Gators)
Tim Tebow visits former high school teammate wounded during Pulse nightclub shooting: Tebow played with Rodney Sumter at Nease High. Sumter, a Pulse bartender, is recovering at Orlando Regional Medical Center after being shot three times and suffering two broken arms during the tragedy in Orlando.
