Del Rio stayed down after his pass fluttered incomplete, and was tended to by trainers for a minute or so before rising to his feet with their aid. Del Rio was helped off the field and directly to the locker room, walking under his own power before even making it to the back of the end zone, and was clearly hobbled while doing so.
The North Texas player in question was flagged for a personal foul.
Del Rio had thrown for 186 yards and one interception prior to the injury, and also appeared to be favoring his right — throwing — arm after a hit sustained in the first half.
Austin Appleby replaced Del Rio, and would be Florida’s likely starter if Del Rio’s injury is serious enough to force him to miss additional time.
