The Gators’ resplendent running back recruiting continued apace today, as four-star tailback Dameon Pierce signed with the Florida Gators this morning. The former Alabama commit, and Georgia native, committed to the Gators in August.

Florida head coach Dan Mullen announced Pierce’s signing on Twitter:

Mullen and Florida assistant Ja’Juan Seider had put in some face time with Pierce since Mullen became the new head of the Gators. Pierce plans to enroll early at Florida.

Pierce amassed 6,779 yards during his time at Bainbridge High School, giving him the ninth most yards in Georgia high school history. In his senior season, Pierce ran for 2,123 rushing yards, scoring 32 touchdowns. You can watch full highlights of the 5-foot-11 205-pound bruiser here, or the clips chosen by Florida below.

Dan Mullen’s offense is fueled by a potent run game, and early enrolling should give Pierce an opportunity to learn Florida’s new offense and compete for carries with Lamical Perine, Malik Davis, and Adarius Lemons next season.

Pierce is the second signee of the Gators’ early signing period, and one of Florida’s 13 current commitments in the 2018 recruiting class, which is presently ranked No. 30 by the 247Sports Composite rankings.
