The Florida Gators signed Amari Burney to their 2018 class this morning. The four-star safety is the second member of the secondary to sign with the Gators today. Burney first pledged to the Gators on June 1, and was considered to be a solid Florida commit throughout this recruiting cycle.

Florida head coach announced Burney’s signing on Twitter:

Burney attends Calvary Christian in Clearwater, and held numerous offers. With three freshmen earning playing time at safety in 2017, it stands to reason that there will be plenty of opportunity for playing time in 2018 as well, and Burney could make an impact early.

Burney is the fourth signee of the Gators’ early signing period, and one of Florida’s 13 current commitments in the 2018 recruiting class, which is presently ranked No. 30 by the 247Sports Composite rankings.
