Gator Boosters, Inc. has launched a “Gator Game Changer” initiative to help fund a “championship experience” for Florida Gators student-athletes and fans. As you may recall, Florida unveiled a $100 million facility upgrades initiative in the fall of 2016, and the University of Florida Athletic Association and Gator Boosters are seeking donations for those projects.
To launch this campaign, Florida released this very cool #GatorGameChanger highlight video:
How great was that? (It re-uses the “Gators Always” narration, sure — but who’s going to complain about that?)
The article from UF announcing the initiative notes that Florida has already completed $106 million in facilities upgrades — primarily the construction football program’s indoor practice facility, the renovation of the O’Connell Center, and the revamp of Florida’s academic support facility — over the past 17 months, and that Gator Boosters has set a goal of $50 million in private donations to fund the $100 million in facility projects mentioned above. Different gift options to participate in the initiative are detailed in the linked article, should you be so inclined.
Facilities upgrades continue to be a major priority for Florida athletics, as evidenced by this latest push for funding.
