2017 NCAA Tournament: Florida to play at 3:10 p.m. Thursday

The Gators are the second game of the day in Orlando.

Florida’s men’s basketball team will begin 2017 NCAA Tournament play on Thursday, March 16, tipping off against East Tennessee State at approximately 3:10 p.m. The No. 4 seed Gators will play No. 13 seed East Tennessee State in a first round East Region match-up in Orlando.

The Gators’ game with the Buccaneers is the second game of Thursday’s afternoon session, and will be played following the other East Region game in Orlando between No. 5 seed Virginia and No. 12 seed UNC Wilmington, which tips at 12:40 p.m.

Florida’s game will be televised on truTV, and will be covered by Ian Eagle, Steve Lavin, and Evan Washburn. The game between Virginia and UNC Wilmington will also air on truTV.

There are two other first round match-ups being played in Orlando during the evening session. The first of those two West Region contests is between No. 6 seed Maryland and No. 11 seed Xavier at 6:50 p.m., and will be televised on TNT. That game will be followed by No. 3 seed Florida State and No. 14 seed Florida Gulf Coast, at approximately 9:20 p.m., and will also air on TNT.
