Florida softball drops first game of Super Regional: The Gators were defeated by the Tide, 3-0, in Thursday’s series opener. Alabama unsurprisingly had difficult getting hits off Kelly Barnhill, but a pair of costly throwing errors by the Florida star allowed the Tide to score three unearned runs in the fifth inning. The Gators failed to record a hit with a runner on base last night. Florida needs a win against the Tide today to advance to a winner-take-all game on Saturday.
