Here’s what to watch before and after the Gators play.

How in the world is this season already at the halfway point this weekend? Craziness!

Today’s schedule starts with a relative bang and features a few rivalries and the requisite mid-season conference contests. For their part, the Florida Gators host their own grudge match with LSU, at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

Feel free to hang out in this thread while watching any of today’s games.

Here are our picks for today’s viewing windows:

Early (12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Eastern)

Texas vs. Oklahoma (12:00 p.m., FOX): Usually the most dismal slot of the day, the noon shift today actually sports one of the bigger games on deck with the No. 19 Longhorns and No. 7 Sooners having their annual neutral site rivalry showdown in Dallas.

Missouri vs. South Carolina (12:00 p.m., SECN): For Florida/SEC fans, this is probably the only other real viewing option, should you tire of the Red River Rivalry/Showdown/Whatever. Here you can check in on two of the Gators’ upcoming opponents.

Maryland vs. Michigan (12:00 p.m., ABC): The No. 15 Wolverines host the Terrapins and yeah, no.

In other games: If you want to watch the Crimson Tide run roughshod over another hapless opponent, No. 1 Alabama is at Arkansas (ESPN) at noon. If you want to watch Will Grier add to his Heisman candidacy (you don’t), you can tune in to Kansas at No. 9 West Virginia (ESPN2), also at noon.

Afternoon (3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern)

Obviously, you will be watching the Florida Gators host the LSU Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

In other games: While the Gators play, college football watchers will also be treated to Florida State at No. 17 Miami (ABC) and No. 2 Clemson at Wake Forest (ESPN).

Evening (7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern)

Kentucky vs. Texas A&M (7:00 p.m., ESPN): The surprisingly undefeated No. 13 Wildcats visit College Station, hoping to continue their win streak. If the ‘Cats make it to 6-0, it’ll be the best start for that program since 1950.

Vanderbilt vs. Georgia (7:30 p.m., SECN): In another SEC East battle of future Florida opponents, the Commodores go between the hedges to take on the No. 2 Bulldogs. I doubt this ends well for the ‘Dores, who get the Gators next week at home.

Notre Dame vs. Virginia Tech (8:00 p.m., ABC): The No. 6 Irish play another night game against a ranked opponent this week, visiting now-ranked-again Virginia Tech (No. 24). Ah, rankings. Such delightful subjective nonsense.

In other games: SMU plays at super-fun No. 12 UCF (7:00 p.m., ESPNU), and No. 8 Auburn visits Mississippi State (7:30 p.m., ESPN2).

And here is your schedule table for today’s games.
