Is Florida spearheading the rise of the SEC East? Maybe. I think this is slightly overblown and/or premature, though, because the No. 2 or 3 team in the East (which is where I’d have Florida right now before any game against Georgia) knocking off what look like the No. 3 and No. 4 teams in the West isn’t some amazing accomplishment, nor reflective on the rest of the division. Florida’s on the rise; the jury’s out on the East. I’ll riff on something else from this later. (Andy Staples, Sports Illustrated)

Florida partied in The Swamp on Saturday: Didn’t that just seem so fun? (Scott Carter, Florida Gators)

Gators’ win over LSU a throwback in many ways: Glad I wasn’t the only one to think this or frame it as such. (Ethan Hughes, Florida Gators)

Vosean Joseph named Walter Camp National Player of the Week: That’s great! It’s a completely meaningless award — it probably doesn’t even get Joseph invited to a December banquet — but neat! (Corinne Simpson, Florida Gators)

Florida volleyball stays undefeated in SEC play: The Gators bounced back from trailing 2-1 to beat Georgia on Sunday. (Katie Callahan, Florida Gators)

Gators soccer loses at South Carolina: That was probably their last, best chance to get a big road win this season, though Florida was missing Deanne Rose due to national team commitments. (Mary Howard, Florida Gators)
