College football TV schedule and open thread: Midweek bowls

There is a single bowl game each of the next three days.

NCAA Football: Alabama A&M at Alabama-Birmingham Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Bowl season continues with single games this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This is your open thread for all three of those contests.

I won’t be doing in-depth bowl previews of these particular games, but noting the match-ups and what swag the player participants in each bowl receive.

Tuesday, December 18

Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl
Northern Illinois vs. UAB (7:00 p.m., ESPN): The MAC and Conference-USA champs meet in southern Florida. (Side note: If you’re wondering what the hell Cheribundi is, as I was, it’s apparently a cherry juice product.)

Bowl gifts: A gift suite, drawstring backpack, beach towel, and a football.

Wednesday, December 19

DXL Frisco Bowl
San Diego State vs. Ohio (8:00 p.m., ESPN): Two teams from different sides of the country will meet for the first time in Texas. (Another sponsor note: DXL is apparently a men’s big and tall clothing retailer.)

Bowl gifts: A gift suite, Justin cowboy hat, beanie cap, coin, pin, and Big Game football.

Thursday, December 20

Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl
Marshall vs. South Florida (8:00 p.m., ESPN): The Bulls get to play at home, in Raymond James Stadium, and hope to snap a five-game skid. Apparently they also let players race mowers as part of the game week festivities.

Bowl gifts: Just a trip to the mysterious gift suite.
