Florida hires former Gator Vernell Brown as Director of Player Development: The former Gator defensive back, and Gainesville High graduate, was recruited by Steve Spurrier. He was a senior in Urban Meyer’s first season with the Gators and was called “the face of Florida football” by his new coach. Florida has yet to officially confirm the hiring.
