Gator softball has perfect weekend: Florida rolled in this weekend’s Aquafina Invitational in Gainesville. The Gators ran away with two victories on Friday, a 7-2 triumph over Maryland and a 10-1 win over Illinois State. Saturday saw Florida cruise past two more opponents, racking up a second win over Maryland (12-0) and one over Iowa State (8-0). The Gators kept it going on Sunday with two more wins, a 3-0 triumph over the Cyclones and an 8-0 victory which saw Kelly Barnhill throw the first perfect game of her career. Florida baseball takes series over Miami: The Gators won their first two in Coral Gables, dropping the series finale (which was their first loss of the season). Florida took the first game in the series with a 7-3 Friday win and followed that with an 8-2 series clinching win on Saturday. In Sunday’s game, the Gators’ offense slumped in a 2-0 loss to the Hurricanes. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators)
