Florida baseball sweeps Vanderbilt: The No. 2 Gators picked up three home wins over the No. 8 Commodores this weekend, giving Florida six consecutive wins over top-ten opponents - with the Gators outscoring those opponents 49-14 over that span. Florida kicked things off on Friday with an 8-4 victory in which closer Michael Byrne set a new UF record for career saves (26). On Saturday, Florida used a seven-run seventh inning to cruise past the ‘Dores and clinch the series in a 10-2 win. The Gators wrapped things up on Sunday with an 8-2 triumph. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators)

Gator softball earns four weekend wins: UF hosted Hampton and Jacksonville this weekend for a pair of games with each. Due to weather concerns, Florida played just one game Friday - a perfect 18-0 victory over Hampton. On Saturday, the Gators picked up three more wins with another triumph over Hampton and two wins over Jacksonville. Florida won 2-1 in the first of those two contests and 4-0 in the second. (Herb Brooks, Florida Gators)

Florida men’s tennis wins a big one, drops another: The Gators defeated top-ranked Wake Forest on the road on Friday, but dropped Sunday’s match at South Carolina. (Kelly Shipp, Florida Gators)

Gator women’s tennis splits weekend: Florida defeated Missouri on Saturday to keep pace in the SEC race, but fell to No. 7 Texas on Sunday. (Kathy Cafazzo, Florida Gators)

UF lacrosse notches sizable win over UConn: Florida scored a season-high 21 goals en route to their 21-8 victory. (Dustin Ciraco, Florida Gators)

Florida track and field closes Pepsi Florida Relays: The Gators posted seven times and marks that rank in the top five nationally. (Zach Dirlam, Florida Gators)

On Florida’s Friday scrimmage: I’d caution not ever getting too hung up on spring scrimmage stats for a myriad of reasons - but some to consider in this case include a new offense being installed after a handful of practices, it being the first scrimmage, and the weather not being ideal.
