Florida baseball wins top-ten series with Kentucky: The No. 1 Gators picked up wins on Thursday and Friday to clinch the series, while the No. 9 Wildcats edged Florida in Saturday’s series finale. The Gators started things off on Thursday with an 11-2 win. On Friday, Florida clinched the series with a 9-4 victory which featured Jackson Kowar pitching seven shutout innings and Wil Dalton with six RBI. Kentucky edged the Gators 3-2 in Saturday’s finale. Gator softball sweeps series with Mississippi State: No. 5 Florida collected three wins over the No. 19 Bulldogs in Starkville this weekend, starting with an 8-3 win on Friday evening. In Saturday’s doubleheader (rescheduled due to weather), the Gators earned a 6-2 win in the first game and a 3-0 victory in the second. In the first game, Amanda Lorenz hit her second grand slam of the season, while Aleshia Ocasio finished the game with seven strikeouts on 104 pitches for her tenth complete-game of the year. In the series finale, Kelly Barnhill notched five strikeouts on 98 pitches and allowed just three hits. (Herb Brooks, Florida Gators)
