Armon Gates named associate head coach for UF men’s basketball: Gates comes to Florida after five seasons as an assistant at Northwestern. Gates helped coach the Wildcats to a pair of 20-win seasons and their NCAA Tournament appearance and win in 2017. Prior to that, he coached at Loyola Chicago, TCU, and Kent State. Gator gymnastics wins NCAA Regional: Florida advanced to the NCAA Championships for the 36th time in the meet’s 37-year history. The Gators turned in a 197.725 Saturday for the team’s seventh consecutive NCAA Regional title. (Mary Howard, Florida Gators)

Florida baseball wins series with Tennessee: Due to weather, the top-ranked Gators played their series opener on Saturday and a double-header on Sunday. Florida began the series with an offensive explosion on Saturday which resulted in a 22-6 win over the Volunteers. In Sunday’s first game, the Gators clinched the series with a 6-4 victory in 11 innings, but then fell to Tennessee in a 6-4 loss in the second game. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators)

UF lacrosse dominates at Villanova: Florida cruised to an 18-8 victory, marking the Gators’ third consecutive win with ten goals or more. Shannon Kavanagh set a Florida single-game record by winning 12 draw controls. (Dustin Ciraco, Florida Gators)

Gator softball tied at 1-1 in series with Alabama: No. 4 Florida opened the weekend with a 6-1 victory over the No. 15 Crimson Tide on Saturday. In game two on Sunday, Alabama edged UF for a 3-2 win. Florida men’s tennis splits weekend: The Gators dropped their Friday match to Texas A&M, but earned their first shutout of the season at LSU on Sunday. In that win over the Tigers, head coach Bryan Shelton earned his 100th win with the Gators. (Kelly Shipp, Florida Gators)
