Armon Gates named associate head coach for UF men’s basketball: Gates comes to Florida after five seasons as an assistant at Northwestern. Gates helped coach the Wildcats to a pair of 20-win seasons and their NCAA Tournament appearance and win in 2017. Prior to that, he coached at Loyola Chicago, TCU, and Kent State. Florida baseball wins series with Tennessee: Due to weather, the top-ranked Gators played their series opener on Saturday and a double-header on Sunday. Florida began the series with an offensive explosion on Saturday which resulted in a 22-6 win over the Volunteers. In Sunday’s first game, the Gators clinched the series with a 6-4 victory in 11 innings, but then fell to Tennessee in a 6-4 loss in the second game. (Daniel Apple, Florida Gators)
