Florida-Miami may be moved up a week: Per multiple reports on Wednesday night, the Florida-Miami clash in the Camping World Kickoff that is set to kick off the 2019 season for both teams could be moved up a week, from August 31 to August 24. (Both days are Saturdays.) This proposed change, writes Adam Silverstein of Only Gators, likely has roots at ESPN, which will televise the game and could be rearranging its TV lineup to have a marquee game to begin the entire college football season, but as Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel notes, it still would have to be approved by the NCAA. And the Associated Press, as Scott Carter notes, also reported that the game will take place at night whether or not it is moved up. More thoughts on this later today! Florida softball takes first 2019 loss — to UCLA: This one, a 7-1 loss to the Bruins, was far less controversial — and far more one-sided — than the teams’ last meeting at the 2018 Women’s College World Series. (Herb Brooks, Florida Gators)
UCF downs Florida baseball in slugfest: Many, many pitchers were used in the Knights’ 12-9 triumph. (Rick Hurtado, Florida Gators)
