Let’s hope this week is less eventful than the last.

Oh, the best-laid plans of mice and men.

I definitely thought I was going to get to everything mentioned last week, but then a possibly homesick, possibly skeeved-out freshman defensive back transferring became the offseason story of the year for Florida for some good and deeply stupid reasons, and so I spent the latter part of last week figuring out what I did and didn’t want to say about that.

And, yeah, I’m going to say more, but probably not until tomorrow, given that it’s entirely possible alumni from 30 years ago are going to weigh in on some aspect of the Chris Steele saga at this point.

I’m also going to be publishing one of the Top Fives pieces per day through Sunday, which may sound weird until you gather that the top assumption is going to play into the next Top Five on Wednesday. Just trust me on that, okay?

And there will also be some postmortems on the weekend that was — with some wildly different outcomes for Florida’s various stick-and-ball sports and another promising showing on the track that was only mildly disappointing because of expectations — in a couple of days.

And I know there’s been a lot of recruiting news of late, very little of it good. A weekly recap of all that should begin sometime this week.

But today I’m doing more prewriting than writing, so expect to see something else later today and that’s it. Cool? Cool.
