You know how 2020 is going well for about zero people who aren’t named Coron A. Virus?

Well, with my body finally feeling close to normal after the medical issues I was dealing with in March, April, and May, I approached this weekend really wanting to tackle the mess that had accumulated in the house, getting bags upon bags of trash (and item upon item for recycling) out in the Tuesday pickup for both.

Then the old, dying air conditioning unit that has been on its last legs for seemingly years already quit working again, leaving me with 80- to 85-degree temperatures inside that never relented this weekend and are still my milieu this morning.

I’ve tried writing in these conditions before: No dice. I would usually flee to a library when A/C goes out in years past, but, uh, that’s not happening during a pandemic. And while I don’t sleep much well under the best of circumstances, but in the midst of something akin to an indoor heat wave, I’ve been barely able to sleep at all.

So, yeah, that means a couple of posts I’ve wanted to do have been delayed. Man plans, Tebow laughs, I guess.

I’m hoping things will be fixed today, and that I manage to scrape together an hour or two of sleep at some point, but I can’t really make any promises, and so I offer up this Weekly Open Thread to you all as a watering hole left unattended by the guy who lives there.

Please be good to each other.
