The Florida Gators will begin the 2021 football season at home and under the lights in The Swamp.
The rest of their announced schedule? Well, we’re gonna be sweating those games out — literally.
Announcements by CBS and the SEC on Wednesday and ESPN and the SEC on Thursday produced game times and TV affiliates for Florida’s season opener against Florida Atlantic, its Week 2 trip to South Florida, its Week 3 showdown with Alabama, and its customary Halloween-week meeting with Georgia in Jacksonville.
In the cases of the first two, Florida will split the difference on night and noon games, hosting the Owls on Saturday, September 4 in a game that will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on the SEC Network, and kicking off their first-ever road game against the Bulls at noon in a game that will be televised on ABC on September 11.
The games with Alabama (on September 18) and Georgia (on October 30) are in the customary 3:30 p.m. slot on CBS, meanwhile, and two of just three predetermined SEC on CBS matchups announced this week. (The third? Well, it’s Arkansas hosting Missouri on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Obviously.)
